To provide a compact snowfall sensor capable of inexpensively making long-distance detection.SOLUTION: A snowfall sensor comprises: a ranging sensor 13 equipped with a light projection unit 23 for radiating light and a light reception unit 24 for detecting the light reflected by a target and, configured to measure the distance to the target in a detection area; and a processing unit 25 configured to obtain a detection result of the ranging sensor and send it to a control unit configured to detect snowfall information based on the detection result of the sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
