To provide a water closet using a water downflow for enhancing dirt discharge capability.SOLUTION: The water closet includes a toilet bowl part 16, and at least one water discharge part, the toilet bowl part 16 including a dirt receiving face 40, and a water reserving part 42 recessed downward with respect to the dirt receiving face 40, the water discharge part including a first water discharge part 32A for discharging washing waster from a first water discharge hole 30A into the toilet bowl part 16 to form a first swirl flow Fa1 flowing backward through a side bowl region 46L, and a second water discharge part 32B for discharging washing waster from a second water discharge hole 30B into the toilet bowl part 16 to form a second swirl flow Fa2 to be joined together with the first swirl flow Fa1, the second swirl flow Fa2 serving to form water downflows Fc1, Fc2 flowing forward into the water reserving part 42. The water amount of the first swirl flow Fa1 flowing through the side bowl region 46L is at least a half of a total water amount discharged from the first water discharge part 32A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
