To provide a traverse device of a multistory parking device with a simple structure that is lightweight.SOLUTION: A multistory parking device 10 comprises: a carriage 13 carrying a pallet 18 and ascending/descending a hoistway 11; and a horizontal device 25 for laterally moving the pallet 18 between a parking room 17 and the carriage 13. The horizontal device 25 comprises: a first horizontal drive gear 31 driven by a motor 17; a second horizontal drive gear 32 engaged with the first horizontal drive gear 31; a first driven sprocket 38 rotated by a first drive chain 36 wound around the first horizontal drive gear 31; a second driven sprocket 39 rotated by a second drive chain 37 wound around the second horizontal drive gear 32; a fitting arm 40 rotating together with the first driven sprocket 38 and the second driven sprocket 39; and a fitting roller 41 comprised in the fitting arm 40 and fitted to the pallet 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
