To omit welding work when connecting steel pipes in an under-peening method.SOLUTION: Prepared is a pipe joint for a steel pipe having a connection portion inserted into the steel pipe and a flange portion 5 bulging outwardly to an outer periphery from the connection portion, wherein a projection length L1 of the connection portion from the flange portion 5 is a length of 0.5 times or more of a diameter D of the steel pipe. A first steel pipe 100 is added to a second steel pipe 200 installed under a building via the pipe joint to form a structure composed of the first steel pipe 100, a joint 1, and the second steel pipe 200. 【課題】アンダーピーニング工法において鋼管を連結する際に溶接作業を省略する。【解決手段】鋼管へ挿入される接続部及び該接続部から外周外方へ膨出する鍔部5を備える鋼管用の管継手であって、鍔部5からの接続部の突出長さL1が鋼管の直径Dの0.5倍以上の長さを備える管継手を準備する。建物の下に設置されている第2鋼管200へ管継手を介して第1鋼管100を継ぎ足して第1鋼管100-継手1-第2鋼管200からなる構造体を形成する。構造体を形成するにあたり溶接は不要である。【選択図】図2
