To shorten a time until siphon force is generated in a case where a flow rate of drainage water is low.SOLUTION: A siphon drainage system 10 includes: a gradient pipe 22 that is inclined downward toward a downstream side and passes drainage water from water-use equipment; a lateral pipe 30A that is connected to the downstream side of the gradient pipe 22, has an inner diameter made smaller than an inner diameter of the gradient pipe 22, and passes the drainage water in a horizontal direction; a vertical pipe 30B that is connected to a downstream side of the lateral pipe 30A and generates siphon force by allowing the drainage water to flow downward from the lateral pipe 30A; a branch pipe 36 that branches midway in the gradient pipe 22; a retention tank 24 that can retain the drainage water and includes an inflow port 24A connected to the branch pipe 36 into which the drainage water flows and an outflow port 24B from which the drainage water flows out; and a junction pipe 38 that connects the outflow port 24B and the lateral pipe 30A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
