To provide a tightening member capable of easily recognizing completion of tightening with a predetermined torque, and a tightening member in which a torque limit mechanism always stably operates.SOLUTION: A tightening member 1 comprises a torque limit mechanism that operates when tightening is performed with a torque greater than or equal to a predetermined value. The tightening member 1 has an engaging part 14 that engages with an engaged part 211 formed on a plumbing member 200, and the engaging part 14 is deformed when the tightening is performed with the torque greater than or equal to the predetermined value, and converts stress applied in a tightening direction into stress in a direction in which the tightening member 1 separates from the plumbing member 200.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
