To provide a runner member and fixing structure for an installation structure that can ensure an installation property of the installation structure.SOLUTION: An upper runner member 20 is provided between an installation structure 10 and an upper side skeleton 2a of a building 1, and is the runner member for fixing the installation structure 10 to the upper side skeleton 2a. The upper runner member 20 is configured to be able to absorb an allowable dimensional error of the upper side skeleton 2a determined by a predetermined reference, a cross-section shape of the upper runner member 20 is a substantially groove-shaped open cross-section having a pair of side wall parts 21 and a bottom part 22, and the length of a surplus part of the side wall part 21 other than the part through which the installation structure 10 is inserted is set to be equal to or larger than the allowable dimensional error of the upper side skeleton 2a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
