To provide equipment and method for treating a slag, capable of efficiently treating the slag without having a complex equipment constitution.SOLUTION: Equipment 1 for treating a slag according to this invention includes: a steam generator 10 for generating steam V by using a sensible heat a slag Ss for generating the steam has; and a steam-aging treatment device 20 for subjecting the slag Ss for generating the steam to steam-aging treatment by using the steam V generated in the steam generator 10.
