DISPLACEMENT RESTRICTION DEVICE
To provide a displacement restriction device that can be attached to, for example, a base-isolated building to avoid collisions between the building and a retaining wall due to excessive deformation of a base-isolating device.SOLUTION: A displacement restriction device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a cylindrical body 15 connected at one end to a face of one structure; and a rod 16 connected at one end to a face of the other structure. At both ends of the cylindrical body 15, movable end plates 24a and 24b are provided so as to be at right angles to the axial line of the cylindrical body and movable in the axial line direction. The other end of the rod 16 is inserted into the inside of the cylindrical body 15 through the movable end plate 24b of the other end of the cylindrical body 15 movably in the axial line direction. And the other end of the rod 16 is provided with a head 28 that is slidable in the axial line direction in the inner periphery of the cylindrical body 15 and moves the movable end plates 24a, 24b. An energy absorbing member 29 made of low yield point steel is provided between each end plate 24a, 24b and the middle portion of the outer circumference of the cylindrical body 15, extending in the axial line direction of the cylindrical body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
