To allow the capture rate of a communication medium attached to equipment carried into a management target area to be increased.SOLUTION: A management system for equipment includes: a first medium compatible communication unit that is provided at a first equipment detection location in a management target area, and reads an identifier stored in a communication medium attached to equipment; a second medium compatible communication unit that is provided at a second equipment detection location, and reads the identifier; and an information management unit that acquires the identifier from the first medium compatible communication unit, performs primary registration for registering the equipment associated with the acquired identifier with equipment status information indicating the equipment that has been carried in, acquires the identifier from the second medium compatible communication unit, determines whether the equipment associated with the acquired identifier is registered with the equipment status information, and when it is determined that it is not registered, performs secondary registration for registering information on the equipment associated with the acquired identifier with the equipment status information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
