To provide a method for constructing a deformation suppression structure that suppresses deformation of surrounding ground when frozen soil thaws, and a method for thawing frozen soil.SOLUTION: A method for constructing a deformation suppression structure 17 that suppresses deformation of surrounding ground when a frozen soil wall 11 formed around a frozen pipe 5 in ground 1 by a freezing method thaws comprises: a boring step of forming a boring hole 13 passing near the frozen pipe 5 in a state where the frozen soil wall 11 is frozen; and an underground structure forming step of filling the boring hole 13 with a cement-based material in a state where the frozen soil wall 11 is frozen to form a cement-based underground structure 15 made of the cement-based material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
