To provide a stable breakwater etc. which can withstand high tsunami, earthquake, and the like.SOLUTION: A breakwater 1 has a superstructure having wall bodies 3 extending on a plane so that front faces face a water area W, plate-like support walls 5 which are arranged so as to extend to a land L side from the wall bodies 3 and support the wall bodies 3 from behind, and wall bodies 4 which are arranged so as to extend along the wall bodies 3 on the land L side of the wall bodies 3, on a ground surface. Ends on the land L side of the support walls 5 are joined to the wall bodies 4, and a height from the ground surface and a member thickness of the wall bodies 3 are larger than the wall bodies 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
