To provide a novel evacuation route guidance system and evacuation route guidance method capable of guiding evacuees having moved to a door on a floor leading to an evacuation exit of a staircase, to the evacuation exit without causing confusion.SOLUTION: An evacuation route guidance system 1 for guiding evacuees from a staircase 3 of evacuation stairs 4 of a building 2 to evacuation exits 7, the evacuation route guidance system 1 comprises a guide arrow 20 provided on an inner surface 8a facing the staircase 3 side, of a door 8 provided on a floor leading to an evacuation exit 7, of the staircase 3, and including a vertical line part 21 extending upward from a lower end of the door 8, and a horizontal line part 22 extending from an upper end of the vertical line part 21 toward a direction of the evacuation exit 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
