To provide a vessel for iron-making capable of improving spalling resistance of a refractory by undergoing a pre-heat treatment of the vessel for iron-making after installation to the vessel for iron-making of a refractory and an operation method of the vessel for iron-making.SOLUTION: An iron-making vessel used for iron-making, which is composed of a work refractory, a permanent refractory, and an iron shell in this order from the inside, and at least a part of the work refractory uses a carbon-containing non-fired brick refractory that contains the following (1), (2), and (3). (1) Refractory raw material (2) Graphite raw material (3) A mixture obtained by mixing a transition metal having an average particle size of 1 μm or less or a transition metal compound containing a transition metal in a liquid binder made of an organic material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
