To provide a utility pole climbing device and an overhanging part that are capable of surely reducing the labor and danger of a utility pole climbing work in spite of a simple constitution.SOLUTION: A utility pole climbing device 1 includes a main pole 56 formed by connecting a plurality of joint-connected elongated bodies in a foldable manner, a locking body provided on an upper end part of the main pole 56 for locking the main pole 56 to a first scaffold bolt of a utility pole, a plurality of steps respectively provided on each elongated body, an overhang part 2 extending from a lowermost elongated body 53 arranged on the lowermost side among the elongated bodies, and mounting means 3 for mounting the overhang part 2 on the lowermost long body 53, the overhanging part 2 including an elongated overhanging body 4 and overhanging steps 5, 5 provided on a lower end 4a of the overhanging body 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
