DOOR OPENING/CLOSING DEVICE AND DOOR OPENING/CLOSING METHOD
To provide a door opening/closing device and a door opening/closing method which are capable of allowing a user to secure an area for performing a setting operation along a door and improving operability for opening/closing the door.SOLUTION: A door opening/closing device 10 includes a setting unit 34 that, based on first distances Md1 and Md2 measured by a measurement unit 32, sets at least a part of one of a first detection range 16A and a second detection range 16B as a start area 35 for detecting the first stages Sm1a, Sm2a of setting operations Sm1, Sm2 by an object 7 to be detected and concurrently sets the other part of the first detection range 16A and the second detection range 16B as a trigger area 36 for detecting second stages Sm1b and Sm2b of the setting operations Sm1 and Sm2 . A control unit 30, when determines, from changes in the distances Md1, Md2 measured by the measurement unit 32, that the object 7 to be detected has performed the setting operations Sm1, Sm2 including the movement between a start area 35 and a trigger area 36, causes the drive unit 28 to open and close a door 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
