To provide a honeycomb structure difficult to generate cracks when receiving a temperature change housed in a metal tube.SOLUTION: A honeycomb structure comprises: a conductive honeycomb structure having an outer peripheral wall and a conductive honeycomb structure that is arranged inside the outer peripheral wall and has a partition wall that defines a plurality of cells forming a flow path from one end face to the other end face, and a pair of electrode layers provided on the outer surface of the outer peripheral wall so as to face each other across a central axis of the honeycomb, wherein a coefficient of linear expansion of the honeycomb structure measured according to JIS R1618:2002 when the temperature is changed from 40°C to 300°C. is 4.1 x 10-6/°C or more, and the coefficient of linear expansion of the honeycomb structure measured according to JIS R1618:2002 when the temperature is changed from 300°C to 800°C. is 4.2×10-6/°C or more and 4.8×10-6/°C or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】金属管に収容されて温度変化を受ける際にクラックが発生し難いハニカム構造体を提供する。【解決手段】外周壁と、前記外周壁の内側に配設され、一方の端面から他方の端面まで流路を形成する複数のセルを区画形成する隔壁とを有する導電性のハニカム構造部、及び、前記ハニカム構造部の中心軸を挟んで対向するように前記外周壁の外表面に設けられた一対の電極層を備え、40℃から300℃まで温度変化させたときのJIS R1618:2002に従って測定される前記ハニカム構造部の線膨張係数が4.1×10-6/℃以上であり、且つ、300℃から800℃まで温度変化させたときのJIS R1618:2002に従って測定される前記ハニカム構造部の線膨張係数が4.2×10-6/℃以上4.8×10-6/℃以下である、ハニカム構造体。【選択図】図1
