To provide a slag granule and a slag compact, which are easily producible, and can easily increase organisms in an aqueous environment.SOLUTION: A slag granule (1) contains slag powder (2), a swelling material (3) swelling by contact with water, and a binder (4) for uniting the slag powder and the swelling material, in which the particle size of the slag granule is 20 mm or more and 50 mm or less, and the swelling material is contained in an amount of 0.5 mass% or more and 2.0 mass% or less, and further a characteristic capable of increasing open pores is provided therein.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
