To provide a brake device and a sliding door, where the brake force is easier to be adjusted than conventional brake devices.SOLUTION: A brake device according to the present invention is equipped with a brake body connected to a suspension wheel and an actuator that makes contact with the brake body to decelerate a sliding door on which the brake body is mounted, and the brake body has a base with a housing space and a braking block disposed in the housing space. The braking block has a case movably arranged in the base and a reaction force adjuster movably arranged in the case.
