To provide a connecting column unit and a building construction method that can reduce a work load on site.SOLUTION: The connecting column unit includes: two (plural) wooden columns 4 arranged at a predetermined interval in a horizontal direction; a column head connecting member 5 and a column leg connecting member 7 that connect the two wooden columns 4 at the predetermined interval; a column leg member 6 (column joint material) connected to a lower end of each of the two wooden columns 4 and connected to a steel beam (structural material) provided below; and the column head connecting member 5 connected to an upper end of each of the two wooden columns 4 and connected to a steel beam provided above.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
