To provide a straddle type monorail vehicle that can be operated without modifying an existing railway track as an alternative route for a local line that is in deficit.SOLUTION: A monorail vehicle uses only one of a pair of rails on a railway track. Conventionally, monorails have prevented fall by pressing guide wheels against rail sides, but the fall prevention is achieved by replacing with a gyro mechanism. Maintenance cost such as dimensional management between two rails was incurred in a railway route, but it can be simplified significantly. Also, a double track can be made using two rails of the conventional route for a single track. In the single track, arrival time setting for a vehicle passing point is necessary, but the double track eliminates this constraint, and unmanned operation becomes easy. Also, it is possible to stop the monorail vehicle during a crowded time period only and operate the conventional railway vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】赤字ローカル線の代替路線として、既存の鉄道軌道を改修せずに運行可能な跨座式モノレール車両を提供する。【解決手段】鉄道軌道の対のレールの片側のみを使用するモノレール車両。従来、モノレールはレール側面に案内輪を押当てることにより転倒を防止していたが、これをジャイロ機構に置き換えることにより実現させる。鉄道路線は、２本のレール間の寸法管理等の保線コストが掛ったが、これを大幅に簡略化できる。また、従来の単線路線のレール２本を利用し複線とすることができる。単線は車両のすれ違いポイントの到着時刻合わせが必用であるが、複線化によりこの制約が無くなり、無人運行も容易になる。また混雑時間帯のみモノレール車両を止めて従来の鉄道車両を運行させることもできる。【選択図】図１
