To provide a cleaning method for a drain pipe capable of avoiding clogging of the drain pipe during cleaning work.SOLUTION: There is provided a cleaning method for a drain pipe 1 having a vertical pipe 3, including: a rope installation step of inserting a rope 15 with a weight 17 installed at an end into the vertical pipe 3 from an upper end of the vertical pipe 3 with the weight 17 at a lower end, and lowering the weight 17 while extending the rope 15 until the weight 17 reaches a lower end part of the vertical pipe 3 so that the rope 15 is installed in the vertical pipe 3; a cleaning hose unit installation step of installing a cleaning nozzle 21 of a cleaning hose unit 19 instead of the weight 17 at the lower end part of the vertical pipe 3; and a cleaning step of raising the cleaning nozzle 21 by lifting the rope 15 while jetting a cleaning liquid 29 from the cleaning nozzle 21 to clean the inside of the vertical pipe.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
