To provide a floating roof type tank demolition method which makes it possible to reduce costs, shorten construction time, and ensure safety.SOLUTION: A method of demolishing a floating roof type tank having a floating roof elevatable along a side plate, the method comprising a floating roof lifting step (step S101) for lifting the floating roof by injecting water or seawater in a tank, a side plate cutting step (step S102) for cutting the side plate by using the floating roof as a foothold, and a floating roof lowering step (step S103) for lowering the floating roof by discharging the water or seawater in the tank, and the method repeating the side plate cutting step (step S102) and the floating roof lowering step (step S103) after the floating roof lifting step (step S101), and cutting the side plate from the upper part to the lower part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
