To improve stress transmission between a round steel pipe and a square steel pipe with a simple structure.SOLUTION: The steel pipe column joint structure includes a round steel pipe 20; an upper diaphragm 22 provided at the end portion of the round steel pipe 20; a square steel pipe 40 whose end portion is arranged inside an inner peripheral surface 20A of the round steel pipe 20 and whose end portion is joined to the round steel pipe 20 via the upper diaphragm 22 in plan view; and a reinforcing square steel pipe 50 arranged inside the round steel pipe 20 and joined to the upper diaphragm 22 so that its end portion is continuous with the end portion of the square steel pipe 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
