BANK PROTECTION STRUCTURE AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD THEREOF
To provide a bank protection structure that can provide low-cost measures to prevent erosion and flooding on a back slope side.SOLUTION: A bank protection structure that protects a river embankment comprises a slope protection member placed on a back slope of the embankment, a support member installed at the back slope to support a toe portion of the slope protection member, and a drain structural member installed inside the embankment on a back side of the support member. The drain structural member has a bottom portion made of wire mesh and coarse-grained drainage material placed on the bottom portion, and is in contact with the back side of the support member. The support member is made of concrete, and has water passage holes that drain water inside the drain structural member to the outside of the back slope. The bottom portion of the drain structural member is connected to the support member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
