To provide a steel pipe pile capable of contributing to improvement of peripheral surface friction and preventing it from being upwardly lifted, and a production method thereof capable of reducing difficulty in processing by allowing twist processing upon production.SOLUTION: A steel pipe pile comprises: a steel pipe part 2 driven into the ground G; and spiral blade parts 3 arranged on an outer peripheral surface 2a of the steel pipe part 2 and inclined relative to a pipe shaft direction X, wherein the blade parts 3 with three or more blades are continuously or intermittently provided along the pipe shaft direction X, and the blade parts 3 are arranged such that projected parts of the blade parts 3 adjacent to each other in a peripheral direction in a plan view from the pipe shaft direction X are superposed without any clearance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
