To provide a ceramic sintered body that has spinel of composition MgAl2O4 including cubic crystalline phase with particularly suitable for large-sized components and a sintered body configuration, high density and enhanced chemical and erosion resistance.SOLUTION: The ceramic sintered body comprises magnesium aluminate spinel of composition MgAl2O4 with a cubic crystal structure of 90 to 100 vol.% and a density of 3.47 to 3.58 g/cc, that does not contain sintering aids.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
