To provide a frame member for tatami mats that is applied to the outer edge of the tatami mats to suppress misalignment of the tatami mats against the frame member.SOLUTION: A frame member 1 for placed tatami mats comprises: a straight member 2 that extends in a straight line against the outer edge of the placed tatami mats 110; a plurality of insertion members 22 that project from the straight member 2 in the short-wise directions Y1 and Y2 perpendicular to the long-wise directions X1 and X2 of the straight member 2 toward the placed tatami mats 110 and extend along the long-wise directions X1 and X2 to be inserted between the floor surface 100 on which the placed tatami mats 110 is placed and the placed tatami 110; and projections 25 protruding upwardly from the plurality of insertion members 22 toward the placed tatami mats 110.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 20
