To provide a level difference eliminating machine capable of instantly returning an original point (storage state) at emergency, when there is a risk of contact with a vehicle, etc.SOLUTION: A level difference eliminating machine 100 is embedded in a platform 200 to eliminate a clearance and level difference between the platform and a train doorway. The level difference eliminating machine 100 includes a rotary surface 110 that is rotatably journaled, an expansion/contraction surface 120 that is slidably attached to the rotary surface, a vertical lifting/lowering mechanism that vertically lifts/lowers the rotary surface by an inverted V-shaped link mechanism 300, a slide mechanism that slides the expansion/contraction surface 120, a detection sensor that is made from a plurality of sensors provided on the rotary surface 110 or the expansion/contraction surface 120, a control portion 500 that controls the vertical lifting/lowering mechanism, the slide mechanism and the detection sensor, and an emergency original point returning mechanism 560 that returns the level difference solving machine 100 to a storage state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 25
