To provide a water meter holding structure capable of suppressing deterioration of water stoppage caused by replacement of a water meter.SOLUTION: A water meter holding structure 1A includes a primary side connection piping member 2A provided upstream of a water meter 10, a movable member 3A provided to connect the primary side connection piping member 2A and the water meter 10 so as to allow tap water to flow between them, and an O-ring 75 as a water stop member provided between the primary side connection piping member 2A and the movable member 3A at a connection portion between the primary side connection piping member 2A and the movable member 3A. The movable member 3A is capable of moving between a state connected to the water meter 10 and a state spaced apart from the water meter 10 while sliding relative to the primary side connection piping member 2A, and at least one of the sliding surfaces of the primary side connection piping member 2A and the movable member 3A is made of resin or is metal plated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
