To prevent slippage of a drive caulking roller of a seam fastening device, which causes surface damage to a seamed steel plate and reduced work efficiency.SOLUTION: A plurality of drive caulking rollers R2... are arranged in parallel, and a power transmission belt B2 is hooked between these drive caulking rollers R2... to interlock them. For seam fastening work, without removing the power transmission belt B2, the caulking work is carried out by sandwiching the power transmission belt B2 between the drive caulking roller R2 and a driven caulking roller R3 together with a caulking joint part of two seamed steel plates M, M. The power transmission belt B2 functions as a protective member for the seamed steel plates M, M and as a friction-increasing member for the drive caulking roller R2, while also achieving a stable running state for the seam fastening device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
