작업 기계의 주위 감시 장치는, 작업 기계 주위에 설정한 근방 영역을 작업 기계의 상방으로부터 부감한 부감도로서 표시하는 근방 표시용 화상과, 작업 기계 주위에 설정한 근방 영역의 외측의 소정 범위를 포함하는 광역 영역을 표시하는 광역 표시용 화상을 선택적으로 표시한다. 작업원의 위치가 미리 설정한 감시 영역 안에 존재하지 않을 경우에는 광역 표시용 화상이 표시된다. 작업원의 위치가 미리 설정한 감시 영역 안에 존재할 경우에는 근방 표시용 화상이 표시된다. 근방 표시용 화상은, 작업 기계의 일러스트 주위에 상기 부감 화상이 표시된 화상이다. 광역 표시용 화상은 근방 표시용 화상의 축소도와, 근방 영역의 외측 상황을 모식적으로 나타내는 화상으로 구성된다.
