The present invention relates to a shock energy absorbing device. The device comprises a rail fixed on the floor or upper part of a number of supports; a rear fixing part fixed on the rail; a front buffer part installed to stay away from the rear fixing part, and primarily absorbing shock energy from a collision of a vehicle; and a shock absorbing part comprising a number of frame parts installed between the rear fixing part and the front buffer part, and converting the shock energy into shear stress, frictional force, and resistance while moving along the rail; at least two side guard panels having a front end combined with both sides of the frame parts, and having a rear end overlapped with a front end of an adjacent guard panel; a first washer combining the side guard panels with the frame parts and reinforcing the frictional force; and a resistor combined with the side guard panels and comprising a second washer and a curved piece. Moreover, according to the present invention, the shock energy absorbing device is capable of preventing a secondary accident and reducing damage to the vehicle by quickly and efficiently absorbing the shock energy by maximizing the shear stress and frictional force and absorbing the shock energy with the resistance.
