Handicraft clay comprises 54-58 wt% of perlite rock of 20-200 μm, 2.5-3.0 wt% of polyvinyl acetate, 13.4-13.86 wt% of glycerin, 25.6-28.4 wt% of propylene glycol, and 0.5-0.8 wt% of inorganic pigment having color, while comprising 0.05 wt% of curing agent and 0.03 wt% of antibacterial agent for total wt% of each handicraft clay mixture. A method for manufacturing the handicraft clay in the present invention comprises the following steps: (a) preparing the perlite powder by crushing the perlite rock of a perlite texture into 20-200 μm; (b) inputting 54-58 wt% of the crushed perlite powder in step (a), 2.5-3.0 wt% of polyvinyl acetate, 13.4-13.86 wt% of glycerin, and 0.5-0.8 wt% of an inorganic pigment having color, while putting each of a curing agent and an antibacterial agent formed with borax into a primary mixer; (c) primarily mixing the input material of step (b) inside the primary mixture at room temperature for two to five minutes by high speed rotation of a stirrer; (d) putting the mixture completed the primary mixing and 25.6-28.4 wt% of propylene glycol into a secondary mixture, and secondarily mixing in a certain rotation speed of the stirrer at room temperature for three to eight minutes; and (e) finishing the handicraft clay by drying the secondary mixture of step (d) for 24 hours at room temperature.

본 발명은 공작용 점토를 구성하는 퍼얼라이트(pearlite) 조직의 진주암(眞珠巖) 분말에 의하여, 인체 및 동물에 무독성이면서, 어린 아이들의 피부와 접촉하여도 전혀 해가 되지 않도록 하며, 상기 진주암의 작은 공극들 사이에 친환경 소재의 항균 물질등이 용이하게 침투하여 안정성과 기능성을 향상시킬 수 있도록 하고, 상기 공작용 점토의 점도를 항상 일정하게 유지할 수 있도록 하면서, 공작용 점토를 부드럽게 하면서, 손에 쉽게 달라붙지 않고 촉감이 가일층 우수하도록 함은 물론, 공작물 점토 혼합물이 1차 혼합기 내부에서 고속으로 빠르고 균일하게 혼합될 수 있도록 하며, 이에따라 상기 공작용 점토의 제조시간이 단축 되면서, 공작용 점토 혼합물이 균일한 상태로 혼합될 수 있도록 하며, 2차 혼합기를 통한 혼합에 의해 공작용 점토 혼합물이 손쉽고, 용이하게 균일한 상태로 반죽되어 혼합될 수 있는 수 있도록 한 공작용 점토 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 그 기술적인 구성은, 20~200㎛ 크기의 진주암(眞珠巖) 54~58중량%, 폴리비닐아세테이트(polyvinyl acetate) 2.5~3.0중량%, 글리세린(glycerin) 13.4~13.86중량%, 프로필렌글리콜(propylene glycol) 25.6~28.4중량%, 컬러(color) 색상을 갖는 무기질 안료(顔料) 0.5~0.8중량%를 포함하되, 상기 공작용 점토 혼합물에는 상기 점토 혼합물 전체 중량%에 경화제 0.05중량%, 항균제 0.03중량%가 각각 포함되며, (a) 퍼얼라이트(pearlite) 조직의 진주암(眞珠巖)을 20~200㎛의 크기로 분쇄하여 진주암 분말을 준비하는 단계; (b) 상기 (a)단계의 분쇄된 진주암 분말 54~58중량%, 폴리비닐아세테이트(polyvinyl acetate) 2.5~3.0중량%, 글리세린(glycerin) 13.4~13.86중량% 및 컬러(color) 색상을 갖는 무기질 안료(顔料) 0.5~0.8중량%를 투입하며, 이때 상기 1차 혼합기의 내부에는 붕사(borax)로 이루어진 경화제와 항균제를 각각 투입하는 단계; (c) 상기 1차 혼합기 내부에서 상기 (b)단계의 투입물을 상온에서 2~5분간 교반기의 고속회전에 의해 1차 혼합하는 단계; (d) 상기 1차 혼합이 완료된 혼합물과 함께 프로필렌글리콜(propylene glycol) 25.6~28.4중량%를 2차 혼합기의 내부에 투입하여 상온에서 3~8분간 교반기의 일정한 회전속도로 2차 혼합하는 단계; (e) 상기 (d)단계의 2차 혼합물은 숙성실 내부에서 상온으로 24시간 건조시켜 공작용 점토를 완성하는 단계;를 포함하여 구성되는 것을 요지로 한다.
