A smart charnel house management system comprises: a storage space for storing a cinerary urn therein; a door covering the opening of the storage space; a locking unit which locks or unlocks the door; a lighting unit for radiating light to the cinerary urn; a sensor unit for sensing the state of the cinerary urn; and a charnel house management server for authenticating a user accessing the cinerary urn, controlling the lighting unit and the locking unit based on an authentication result, and generating state information of the cinerary urn based on the sensing signal of the sensor unit.
