Disclosed is an apparatus for preventing a water meter from freezing, which is able to prevent a water meter from freezing by making water in the water meter discharged under conditions where the water meter may freeze. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for preventing a water meter from freezing can comprise: a temperature sensor detecting the temperature in the water meter; a control unit receiving temperature information from the temperature sensor and providing a control signal in accordance with a program; a first valve installed between the water meter and a water supply source and controlling the supply of tap water in accordance with the signal of the control unit; a second valve installed between the water meter and a water pipe of a household and controlling the supply of tap water in accordance with the signal of the control unit; a discharge line communicating with the inside of the water meter to discharge the tap water in the water meter to the outside when the first valve and the second valve are closed by the control unit; and a pressure detection unit installed between the water pipe of the household and the second valve, and, when the water pipe of the household is opened with the first valve and the second valve closed, detecting the changes in the pressure and transmitting an opening signal to the control unit so that the first valve and the second valve are opened.
수도 계량의 동파가 염려되는 조건에서 계량기 내부의 물이 빠지도록 함으로써 동파를 방지할 수 있는 수도 계량기 동파방지 장치가 개시된다. 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 수도 계량기 동파방지 장치는, 수도 계량기 내부의 온도를 감지하는 온도 센서; 상기 온도 센서로부터 온도 정보를 전달받고, 프로그램된 바에 따라 제어 신호를 제공하는 제어부; 상기 제어부의 신호에 따라 상기 수도 계량기와 상수도원 사이에 설치되어 수돗물의 공급을 제어하는 제1 밸브; 상기 제어부의 신호에 따라 상기 수도 계량기와 가정의 수도 사이에 설치되어 수돗물의 공급을 제어하는 제2 밸브; 상기 제어부에 의해 상기 제1 밸브 및 제2 밸브가 잠기면 상기 수도 계량기 내부의 수돗물을 외부로 배출하도록 상기 수도 계량기 내부에 연통된 배출라인; 및 상기 가정의 수도와 상기 제2 밸브 사이에 설치되고, 상기 제1 밸브와 제2 밸브가 잠긴 상태에서 가정의 수도가 개방되면 상기 제1 밸브와 제2 밸브가 개방되도록 압력 변화를 감지하여 상기 제어부에 개방 신호를 전달하는 압력감지부;를 포함할 수 있다.
