The invention relates to a hydraulically and chemically bonding refractory cement, which comprises a caustic magnesia component having a BET specific surface area of at least 0.5 m2/g, and a carboxylic acid component, wherein the carboxylic acid component consists of at least one carboxylic acid that is only slightly water soluble and/or has a low dissolution rate in aqueous solutions, and which carboxylic acid component is capable of generating at least one soluble magnesium salt upon contact of said cement with water. The invention further relates to a corresponding refractory material containing the magnesia cement and to uses thereof for the manufacture of products useful in various industries.
L'invention concerne un ciment réfractaire à prise hydraulique et chimique, qui comprend un constituant magnésie caustique présentant une surface spécifique selon BET d'au moins 0,5 m2/g et un constituant acide carboxylique, le constituant acide carboxylique étant constitué par au moins un acide carboxylique qui n'est que légèrement soluble dans l'eau et/ou qui présente un faible taux de dissolution dans des solutions aqueuses, lequel constituant acide carboxylique pouvant générer au moins un sel de magnésium soluble au contact dudit ciment avec de l'eau. L'invention concerne en outre un matériau réfractaire correspondant contenant le ciment à base de magnésie et des utilisations correspondantes pour la fabrication de produits utiles dans diverses industries.
