OPTIMISING FIRE PROTECTION FOR AN OFFSHORE PLATFORM
An offshore oil and gas platform 14, 16 has equipment and piping associated with an oil and gas installation. A method for optimising fire protection for the platform 14, 16 comprises: arranging the platform 14, 16 to have an evacuation time of at most 15 minutes or less using one or more evacuation route(s) via a gangway or bridge 136 allowing personnel to escape to a vessel or to another platform 14, 16; determining a maximum evacuation time for the platform 14, 16; assessing the risk to personnel using the evacuation route(s) in accordance with the determined maximum evacuation time in the event of a fire; and providing passive fire protection to equipment and/or piping on the platform 14, 16 in order to prevent escalation of the fire that would create a risk to personnel on the evacuation route(s) during the determined evacuation time.
La présente invention concerne une plate-forme de forage gazier et pétrolier offshore (14, 16) comprenant un équipement et une tuyauterie associés à une installation de pétrole et de gaz. Un procédé d'optimisation de protection contre l'incendie pour la plate-forme (14, 16) comprend : l'agencement de la plateforme (14, 16) de manière à prévoir un temps d'évacuation d'au maximum 15 minutes, en utilisant une ou plusieurs voies d'évacuation via une passerelle ou un pont (136) permettant au personnel de s'échapper vers un navire ou une autre plateforme (14, 16) ; la détermination d'un temps d'évacuation maximal pour la plateforme (14, 16) ; l'évaluation du risque pour le personnel utilisant la ou les voies d'évacuation en fonction du temps d'évacuation maximal déterminé en cas d'incendie ; et la fourniture d'une protection passive contre l'incendie à un équipement et/ou une tuyauterie sur la plateforme (14, 16) afin d'empêcher une aggravation de l'incendie, ce qui créerait un risque pour le personnel sur la ou les voies d'évacuation pendant le temps d'évacuation déterminé.
