Die Erfindung betrifft eine Handhabe (1) für ein Kraftfahrzeug, mit einem Montageträger (30), der innenseitig einer Tür (2) des Kraftfahrzeuges befestigbar ist, einem Griff (10), der außenseitig der Tür (2) des Kraftfahrzeuges anordenbar ist und am Montageträger (30) befestigt ist, einem Aktivierungselement (60), das bewegbar am Montageträger (30) angeordnet ist. Erfindungsgemäß ist vorgesehen, dass der Montageträger (30) ein Steuerelement (40) aufweist, das zwischen einer Haltestellung (5) und einer Sicherungsstellung (6) bewegbar ist, wobei in der Haltestellung (5) das Steuerelement (40) am Aktivierungselement (60) angreift, wodurch das Aktivierungselement (60) in einer Montagestellung (7) gehalten ist, um eine vereinfachte Montage des Griffes (10) zu ermöglichen, in der Sicherungsstellung (6) das Steuerelement (40) losgelöst vom Aktivierungselement (60) ist.
