A wetting apparatus (100) is provided for wetting a length of reinforcing fabric with a waterproofing agent, for example for use in waterproofing areas in a wet room or shower recess. The wetting apparatus (100) comprises a housing (120) adapted for attachment to a receptacle (110) in which a waterproofing agent is contained. A guiding element (140) is supported by the housing (120) for guiding the length of reinforcing fabric through the receptacle (110) in which the waterproofing agent is contained. An excess removal device (150) is supported by the housing (120) for removing excess waterproofing agent from the length of reinforcing fabric.
