Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zum Spülen einer leitungsgebundenen Trinkwasserabgabevorrichtung (1), wobei die leitungsgebundene Trinkwasserabgabevorrichtung (1) eine an eine Trinkwasserzufuhr angeschlossene Trinkwasseraufbereitungseinheit (5), eine mit der Trinkwasseraufbereitungseinheit (5) leitungsverbundenen Zapfarmatur (7), mindestens eine Verbindungsleitung (6, 6', 6"), durch die die Trinkwasseraufbereitungseinheit (5) mit der Zapfarmatur (7) leitungsverbunden ist, sowie ein Steuerungs- und Eingabesystem (8), das dazu eingerichtet ist, der Trinkwasseraufbereitungseinheit (5) und der Zapfarmatur (7) Steuerungsanweisungen zu erteilen, umfasst, wobei das Verfahren die folgenden Schritte umfasst: • (a) Ermitteln des Zeitraums seit der letzten Wasserentnahme aus der Zapfarmatur (7); • (b) Vergleich des in Schritt (a) ermittelten Zeitraums mit einem in dem Steuerungs- und Eingabesystem (8) vorgegebenen Zeitraum; und • (c) Durchleiten einer durch das Steuerungs- und Eingabesystem (8) vorgegebenen Wassermenge durch die Trinkwasseraufbereitungseinheit (5), wenn der in Schritt (a) ermittelte Zeitraum den in dem Steuerungs- und Eingabesystem (8) vorgegebenen Zeitraum übersteigt. Darüber hinaus bezieht sich die vorliegende Erfindung auf eine leitungsgebundene Trinkwasserabgabevorrichtung (1), deren Steuerungs- und Eingabesystem (8) zur Ausführung eines derartigen Verfahrens eingerichtet ist.
