A parking management system 1A, which is provided with a management device for managing a registered vehicle, that has been registered in advance, to park in a parking space in a parking lot, operates by connecting the management device via a communication line to a mobile terminal 100 operated by a passenger of a pre-entry vehicle attempting to enter the parking space, wherein the management device comprises: a vehicle imaging camera 40 which images the pre-entry vehicle; a pre-entry vehicle identification information acquiring unit 72 which acquires identification information relating to the pre-entry vehicle on the basis of image data relating to the pre-entry vehicle imaged by the vehicle imaging camera 40; a registered vehicle determining unit 51 which determines whether the pre-entry vehicle is a registered vehicle, with reference to the acquired identification information and a database in which registered identification information relating to registered vehicles is recorded; and a transmitting unit 54 which, if the registered vehicle determining unit 51 determines that the pre-entry vehicle is a registered vehicle, sets the pre-entry vehicle as an entry-permitted vehicle and transmits an entry permission notification permitting entry to the parking space to the mobile terminal 100.
