HYDRAULIC HAMMER WITH DAMPENING ACCUMULATOR
A hydraulic hammer (102) for impact fracturing a work object includes a hammer shell (130) having a cylinder body (138) disposed between a front head (134) and a rear head. A piston (142) reciprocally movable within the cylinder body (138) abut a work tool (132) and can extend and retract the work tool (132) from the hammer shell (130). To dampen momentum and impact forces, an accumulator head (154) is attached to the back head (136) and can accommodate hydraulic and dampening fluids in separate first and second sub-chambers. The dampening sub-chamber may directly fluidly communicate with an internal dampening fluid reservoir in the back head (136).
