Nonlinear finite element analysis of concrete-filled steel tubular column
Bearing capacity of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFT) column under axial loading is studied by ANSYS procedures. Firstly, ultimately bearing capacity of CFT column is calculated using model of solid element. In order to expedite computed speed, model of beam-link element is proposed. Then the load-bearing capacity obtained from model of solid element and the model of beam-link element is well consistent with that of the test, which verifies the feasibility of the model of beam-link element. Parameter analysis of special-shaped column composed of concrete filled square steel tube (SCFT) is studied using model of beam-link element. Then the difficulty of parameter analysis of SCFT is resolved. Finally, one SCFT column is simulated by model of beam-link element and MIDAS model, good agreement is obtained.
