Performance of Admission Control for Streaming Service in TDD-HSDPA System
In order to satisfy the increasing demand for high speed data services, HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) can be adopted based on LCR-TDD-CDMA (Low Chip Rate - Time Division Duplex - Code Division Multiple Access), which is one of the most popular 3G cellular mobile systems. In this paper, a system performance evaluation model is proposed for streaming service. According to the traffic characteristics, a novel approach for modeling buffer and defining the packet discard and drop criterion is presented. Both block probability and drop probability are utilized to evaluate the overall system performance. Based on the proposed performance evaluation model, the system level performance of a simple admission control strategy for streaming service in TDD-HSDPA system is investigated by the numeral results.
