Experimental Studies of Bicycle Deceleration on Dry, Moist and Wet Asphalt Concrete Pavement
The aim of this study was to evaluate the factors affecting the braking of non-mechanical vehicles, in particular bicycles, on dry, moist and wet asphalt concrete pavement. Deceleration tests were carried out using the LWS-2MC model decelerometer on dry, moist and wet asphalt concrete pavement. Based on the results of the steady-state deceleration, graphs of the dependence of the steady-state deceleration on the mass, wheel diameter and bicycle tread height were plotted and analyzed. Factors affecting the braking ability of a nonmechanical vehicle have been disclosed.
