The invention relates to the field of building materials, and particularly discloses asphalt concrete and a pavement construction method of the asphalt concrete. The asphalt concrete is prepared from, by weight, 5-6 parts of asphalt, 4-5 parts of mineral powder, 85-95 parts of aggregate and 3-5 parts of traction material, the traction material comprises fibers and a porous material, the porous material is of a penetrating porous structure, the fibers penetrate through the porous material, and the porous material is selected from at least one of porous ceramic or porous ceramsite; the preparation method comprises the following steps: S1, preheating the material; and S2, mixing the raw materials. The asphalt concrete provided by the invention can be used in environments such as pavements, parking lots and airports, and has the advantages of high water resistance and excellent crack resistance.
