Scenarios through the system life-cycle
Since the initiation of the National Strategy for Police Information Systems in 1994, at least within the technical field, we have realised a need for a systems architecture to support the information systems strategy and the other architectures, namely the technical and data architectures. A lot of options and feasibilities have come to fruition within the architecture arena, resulting in recommendations being made for the adoption of UML, object orientation and corporate models, to support new developments for the police business. The use of UML scenarios to produce a police systems architecture is considered, including an example. (4 pages)
