The primary objective of this interim response action is to prevent the potential spread of contamination via the sanitary sewer system. The IRA will consist of (1) construction of a new sanitary sewer and (2) sealing of the existing sewer in the north plants and south plants areas along with the interceptor line in Section 36. Sections of this draft implementation document include: (1) Procedures for sealing the existing sewer lines with concrete: (2) Schedule of closure events: (3) Discussion of ARAR's: (4) Health and safety plan for closure of existing lines: (5) Specifications and plans for the new sanitary sewer: and (6) Health and safety plan for the new sewer project.
