Supplement to the American Housing Survey for Selected Metropolitan Areas in 1989. Current Housing Reports
The report presents supplemental statistics for occupied housing units from the 1989 American Housing Survey Metropolitan Sample (AHS-MS), conducted in 11 selected metropolitan areas. The supplemental statistics includes housing and household characteristics by family type, housing quality by family type, neighborhood quality, and characteristics of year-round housing units removed from the inventory since the last survey period. The AHS was designed to provide a current series of information on the size and composition of the housing inventory, the characteristics of its occupants, changes in the inventory resulting from new construction and units removed from the inventory, indicators of housing and neighborhood quality, and the characteristics of recent movers. The areas included in the survey are Boston, MA-NH; Dallas, TX, Detroit, MI; Fort Worth-Arlington, TX; Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA; Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN-WI; Philadelphia, PA-NJ; Phoenix, AZ; San Francisco-Oakland, CA; Tampa-St. Petersburg, FL; and Washington, DC-MD-VA.
